Beef Steak Sauce

INGREDIENTS

cup (310 ml)
beef broth
1
tbsp (20 ml)
cornstarch
1/3
cup (80 ml)
diced onion
1/4
tsp (0 ml)
dried thyme
1/2
cup (130 ml)
red wine, divided
1
tsp (10 ml)
vegetable oil

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat oil in medium saucepan; add onion.
  2. Sauté 1-2 minutes or until softened.
  3. Stir in broth, 1/4 cup (250 ml) wine and thyme; bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.
  4. Mix cornstarch with 1 tbsp water or wine and stir into saucepan with juices from roasting pan.
  5. Bring to boil, stirring constantly until thickened.
