Rioja wines are elegant, original and have the unmistakable character of great wines, something which is only possible when grape varieties, vine-growing methods and winemaking procedures have been honed over time. It has been a traditional practice by the bodegas to blend different grape varieties and wines from different vineyards and towns. This is undoubtedly the bestknown kind of Rioja although bodegas are increasingly offering a rich variety of styles which aim to express the traits of specific vineyards.
With Tempranillo as the main element, Rioja reds are very balanced in their alcohol content, colour and acidity, have a body and structure offset perfectly by a gentle and elegant flavour and are mainly fruity in nature when young and more velvety when aged. Rioja wines are highly versatile when combining with the most varied of foods.
Beronia is ruby, deep-red in colour with slight ochre undertones. It has a vanilla-like bouquet blended with wild fruits and compote, with a touch of toasted bread and spices. It is smooth and gentle to the palate with shades of ripened fruits and savoury spices. It is the perfect companion to meat, venison and cheese dishes.
